From digital to demographic: a changing healthcare system

13.09.2024

GIM has produced the third edition of the Digital Health Report for Doctolib, a provider of online appointment booking systems for medical practices and healthcare facilities. The report provides valuable answers and food for thought - from the perspective of both doctors and patients.

The focus is on generational change in the context of the digitalization of the German healthcare system, with a particular focus on the private practice sector. The study, conducted from April to May 2024, is based on surveys of more than 400 doctors from various specialties and almost 1,100 Doctolib users.

For the first time, the report also differentiates between doctors' professional experience. Overall, it provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of digitalization in German medical practices, also in comparison to previous years. It also includes the perspectives of patients and doctors with regard to digital applications and services. Readers will learn

  • the state of trust in the doctor-patient relationship.
  • what impact the generational shift is having on digitalization in the healthcare sector.
  • whether digital assistants are a must-have or a challenge.
